The Storm

Image
A young flower is ready to blossom into a beautiful full blown rose.  Without warning a storm sets in with raging winds, lighting and rain. The flower weeps, believing she won’t live to see her peddles unfold.  Knowing that she is powerless to the forces of Mother Nature, she leaves her fate to the dance of the wind. After a destructive and treacherous battle, the young rose rises triumphant above the devastating power of the storm.   She thanks Mother Nature for only taking one leaf, and granting her the courage to get through the night. Mother Nature replies with a beautiful rainbow signaling that the storm is over, but that it won't be the last. ~By Andrea Realpe http://andrea-realpe.artistwebsites.com/featured/bleeding-rose-finished-andrea-realpe.html

Rose Complete

Steps to Realistic Pencil Drawings ~Step 1: Pick out a clear detailed photograph. Chose wisely, no blurry images. Your final drawing results will be very gratifying depending on the quality of the original photograph. ~Step 2: Draw an outline with 2H pencil. Draw it lightly so that if you make a mistake you can erase easily. ~Step 3: This is the fun part. Now you really have to look at the photograph. For example, with a rose pedal, notice every vain on the rose. Notice every flaw of the rose, the more you notice the more realistic your drawing will be. Start with the left corner of the page, so you do not smudge the graphite. You can also put a plain white paper on the section you are not using. When I do pencil portraits, I start with the pupal of the eye and work my way out. ~Work very slow; do not speed. Work an hour an inch, that is how you get the best results . Remember the more practice the better your drawings will get. Practice makes perfect, so practi

Lake Ella

Image
Tittle: Lake Ella Spherized (Acrylic painting on canvas) 20 x 16 inches    I wanted to capture the warm feeling that I get when I walk around Lake Ella. Many people go there for the scenery, exercise, walks, picnic, shelter, and just a simple outing. I go there to see and feel life. I see the muscovy ducks, turtles, three pekin white ducks, fish, and many friendly faces. The light symbolizes life. It also symbolizes how something so simple like a walk around the lake can make you feel very warm and alive with not a care in the world.     The symbolism of the sphere is the feeling of wholeness that everyone shares when they walk sixth-tenths of a mile around Lake Ella. Hidden Dragon Tattoo

Image
I got commissioned to do a tattoo drawing for someone that admired my work. My first reaction was I have never done this before. I don't know what I am doing and I don't want to disappoint my client. I was hesitant in the beginning, but then the idea of getting my work inked on someone for a lifetime completely changed my decision.    My client asked for Kanji characters, which are the Chinese characters written in modern Japanese writing system. He wanted the drawing to be Japanese style with a cherry blossom tree. He pretty much left it open and free to do what ever I wanted. He told me that he wanted to see what my creative juices will come up with. This is what I came up with, To view more art click on the link http://andrearealpe.bigcartel.com/ *This artwork may not be reproduced or used in any shape or form without written permission from the artist.   Hidden Dragon Tattoo Copyright 2013 - Andrea Realpe - All Rights Reserved Email Andrea:
